Tyler talking about his mom, why he likes music, and starting overWHAT ARE WE REALLY DOING? So, Operation Car Radio began not even three days ago, and already it has made an impact, not only on Facebook and Twitter, but in individual lives as well. I've had the tremendous pleasure of rallying with hundreds of people I didn't even know existed... all for one common cause. But what is the REAL cause? What are we really doing? Yes, we are giving back to Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Yes, we are trying to make one of Tyler's dreams come true... but what exactly are his dreams? Car Radio is one of the most moving and relatable songs to ever grace our ears, but it's more than a song. It's a message - a life saving one! Have you scrolled through all of the comments on YouTube? Hundreds of people have shared a similar testimony; that the message in Car Radio saved their lives. This is a beautiful, beautiful thing. The sad part is that there are countless lives left to be saved. Twenty One Pilots and the Skeleton Clique cannot save every life, but one life saved is better than none. People are so afraid to share their pain. Tyler Joseph is not. His courage to share his pain has given others the courage to make it through their own. In a sense, they needed to hear his pain. Yes, if Operation Car Radio is successful, Tyler Joseph will get to hear his favorite song on the radio... and so will many, many others. Possibly millions. If 1 million people hear Car Radio on December 1, what are the odds that 1 of them literally needed to hear it? Let's do this for them. Let's do this for them all. From: @OPCarRadio #operationcarradio |-/ Skeleton Clique, We are joining with @Stac3yFac3y and her awesome idea for Tyler's birthday and as a HUGE Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun have poured out their hearts and souls for us, their fans, and this year we want to give back. Tyler's birthday is on December 1, and he has said from the beginning that Car Radio is the song he wants to hear on the radio someday. Sadly, the radio is a silly industry and only plays songs that have distinguishable choruses (with the exception of a few). But that doesn't mean we can't try... The week before his birthday (starting November 24), let's contact out local radio stations (via email, twitter, Facebook, etc.) and ask for Car Radio to be played, even once, on December 1 for Tyler's birthday. Use the hashtag #operationcarradio so that we (the Clique) and the radio stations can see the hype. Maybe, just maybe, some stations will be able to make this happen. :) Invite all of your friends who love twenty one pilots as much as you do. Click on the button below and it will bring you to the #operationcarradio Facebook page. Also, feel free to post any questions... how hyped you are about it... and invite friends! We will keep you updated! COME ONE PILOTS! LET'S DO THIS! Just in case you missed this awesome interview and acoustic session with our boys #twentyonepilots11/9/2013
"Men are not of the poisoners of fate, but prisoners of their own mind." "Change can be beautiful and painstaking, but rarely is it comfortable." "Whatever you do, don't surrender!" Automatically, the FDR quote made me think of the lyrics from Trapdoor "Nothing kills man faster than his own head." I feel that we get so caught up in fears and worries that our head makes up...even thinking about what others might say or think about us holds us back from doing things that we love or even admitting that we are not as fine as we seem. We spend so much time trapped in our own minds...circling fighting with our doubts - but we can't live like that. "we stay in place 'casue we don't want to loose our lives... so lets think of something better" we have to find the courage to say "shut up" to our doubts and fears. We have to push through our pain and suffering to find joy. AND IT IS NOT EASY! This is where the Trevor Mcnevan quote comes in. Change is hard... especially when we are dealing with changing the way we think and live. Guys this is a huge task. The end result is a beautiful new life where we are free, but the journey is hard. Encouragement? All is not lost! We are not traveling through this life alone... we are not battling by ourselves. There are others who have fought this fight before us, and there are others who are battling this fight... the same fight that you are battling. We're not alone. "Down in the forest, we'll sing a chorus, one that everybody knows." we all know that there is a battle... we face it every day... we are singing the same chorus - a chorus that we are struggling... that we are fighting and hurting... but we're singing together! "Hands held higher, we'll be on fire, singing songs that nobody wrote." To me, these lyrics mean that the words of these songs, of the chorus we are singing, are engraved in our lives. The struggle, the battles, AND the victories we're lyrics we did not need to learn because we live them everyday. BUT once again, we are not singing alone. So the last quote I heard while watching Boy Meets World today. "Whatever you do, don't surrender." self explanatory... yet some powerful words. The fight gets hard... and sometimes things feel hopeless... but we can't give up. We are going through these struggles for a reason. To struggle means to live.. it means that we are not dead yet... it means that this is not the end. We are growing, we are changing. Our struggles help others. Our struggles help us see things in our life that need to be changed. It shows us that we are not yet who we are suppose to be. SO KEEP STRUGGLING! Keep Struggling and take courage that this is not the end, and that you are not struggling alone! Pilots, Stay Alive Struggle On Be Encouraging |-/ |
